Part 1: International Students – Activities Week

What an amazing week! If you didn’t already know this, I volunteered to be a Buddy Mentor with Birmingham City University. For the week we had a lot of activities planned for the new international students to welcome them into Birmingham and make them feel at home before starting their next 3 years with us.

I can honestly say, it’s been one of the best weeks of my life. I’m the sort of person that throws myself into everything, gets involved, even when I’m really bad at something haha. But I want to make the most of every opportunity to develop my own skills and grow. This week has really shaped me, not only that but it’s confirmed everything I was thinking before ‘I NEED to work with students after I qualify.’ I would absolutely love the chance to work with the university doing this! But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean I’m giving up nursing haha! My plan is to do both. It’s definitely something I am now looking into to either way.

I have created some vlogs of the week which I have separated into a few parts as the video will be far too long to upload all at once haha. So here is part 1, it’s not the most fun one and this one is me explaining a few things, but the rest are full of action and amazing! I can’t wait to show you them.

And if you are looking at doing anything around university, get out and do it! Embrace it all. Enjoy 🙂
